Oral Health Check
Why Do Regular Dental Check-ups Matter?
Regular dental check-ups are a key part of maintaining a healthy smile and preventing problems before they arise. At Alliance Dentistry, we believe prevention is always better than cure.
During your routine appointments, we will:
-
Provide personalised advice on how best to care for your teeth, gums, and overall oral health.
-
Identify potential issues early—before they become more complex or require invasive treatment.
-
Recommend care from other members of our team, such as our Dental Hygienist, when appropriate.
-
Discuss preventive and restorative treatment options tailored to your individual needs.
Your check-up is also a chance to ask questions, discuss any concerns, and make sure you’re confident in your ongoing dental care plan.

What We Check During Your Dental Examination
At every routine check-up, we carry out a thorough examination to assess your overall oral health.
This includes:
-
Checking your teeth for signs of decay, cracks, wear or other damage
-
Assessing your gums for signs of gum disease, recession or inflammation
-
Screening for early signs of oral cancer, including the cheeks, lips, tongue and soft tissues
-
Examining your bite (occlusion) and jaw for any functional issues or symptoms of clenching or grinding
-
Reviewing any existing dental work to ensure it’s still functioning well
-
Taking X-rays if needed to look for issues beneath the surface, such as hidden decay or bone loss
This comprehensive approach helps us detect problems early and tailor your care to keep your smile healthy for the long term.
